The resort town of Truskavets, located at the foot of the Carpathian Mountains, preserves its rich historical heritage of elegant façades of wooden villas. Its architectural environment is shaped by the traditional attention to detail and harmonious integration of buildings into the landscape.

The project plot, located on a hill slope, has a view of the opposite hill and the central part of the town with its natural ensemble of mineral springs amidst the thick tree crowns. The plot is surrounded by residential buildings and hotels of various height.

Our design primarily endeavours to match the town’s panorama and to ensure a smooth transition between multi-storey and individual housing. The existing linear building of the hotel outlines the perimeter of the quarter with a clear differentiation of active public areas of the street and cosy inner space.

Open terraces, enveloping the residential development, interact with the city, provide mountain views, and make life in a resort town much more enjoyable.

The clear planning grid creates individual summer rooms for each apartment. Sun-lit terraces fill the internal living spaces with light. Semi-translucent fences and embossed façade systems resemble openwork carvings of the traditional wooden façades.

The upper floors are terraced to interact with the surrounding buildings.
