A picturesque hill in the Dnieper River Valley smoothly joins the slopes of the botanical garden. The project site, located on the hill, offers a magnificent view of the natural landscape and the Dnieper’s opposite bank.

In this project, we have sought to combine two key values: privacy for each of the residents and good neighbourly atmosphere. Our low-key approach to this work focuses on comfort and cosiness and leaves room for interaction.

1. residential building “А”
2. residential building “B”
3. playground
4. outdoor parking

The space is organized to resemble a natural park, ensuring privacy for each resident.

The steep project site is interpreted through a cascade of terraces, which create semi-public and private spaces for the residents.

We have used natural stone and parterre landscaping to disconnect the terraces both visually and acoustically. This solution provides a comfortable environment for the residents regardless of the season.

The underground part of the project provides space for car parking, utility rooms, and a shelter.

The above-ground part of the buildings is organized into three floors and a mezzanine with one to two apartments per floor.

Each apartment has its private open space along the entire perimeter, suggestive of a private residence with panoramic views.

The project offers the residents a small open leisure area. A technical passage has been designed around the site for the gardeners to maintain the terraces.

Blinds and curtains installed into the large panoramic windows protect the living space against excessive insolation and overheating.

The buildings’ exterior suggests that it has a solid and reliable structure. The façades and retaining walls are decorated with Ukrainian sandstone. At the same time, the total glazing of the mezzanine with the emphatically thin contour of the roof contrasts with the façade and makes the structure light and airy.
