The whole structure of the house is based on the figural, formal and visual dialogues with the natural surrounding. The latter prompted the very philosophy and image of the house, which is “the bark and the core”.
The bark is a shell, which keeps memory of the original closed form, and is represented by the wall made of slate sheets.
The cubic volumes of the house are sitting in a sudden harmony with the 20-meter high vertical lines of the oak-forest.
The center of the house is formed by a spacious hall provided with a big skylight.
The core of the inner space communicates with the outside by means of cut-outs in the form of cours d’honneur, each serving its special purpose: entry portal, covered terrace, backyard, and courtyard, which adjoins the bedrooms.
