03/05/22. Last week, we held a presentation of the book “Conversations about Architecture”. Originally, it was to be held in the assembly hall of the Lviv National Academy of Arts as a Q&A session, but an air alert somewhat changed the format of the meeting and turned it into a friendly talk in a bomb shelter.
We discussed today’s architectural challenges, possible options for the future development of Ukrainian cities, and the form and content of the war-time and post-war architecture in Ukraine. We tried to find a new perspective on some of the key issues, get new insights and stressed the pivotal role of identity in order to apply the results of the discussion to create safe and functional spaces in Ukrainian cities.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Bohdan Volynsky for the exciting discussion, to ist publishing for smooth organization, to the Kharkiv School of Architecture for the provided location and to everyone who joined us!
